Avault prevention structures (avalanche barriers) made with wire rope nets have been used in many countries inside and outside Europe since 1951. The avalanche protection structures, made of rope and steel wire mesh and anchored to the ground at right angles to the slope, reach up to the snow surface and form a protective surface. Avalanches can be prevented at the beginning before they break, or snow movement is limited to manageable amounts.
